We would like to welcome you to our Gite in South West France.

Perfect as a base for house-hunters, fishermen, golfers and all those wishing to holiday at a pace that best suits them.

Situated in a small halmlet only 3 km from the delightfully sleepy village of Vasles, La Frictiére is close to all the amenities for your day to day needs such as tabac (the village store), 2 bars with restaurants, a supermarket, bakers and a bank among other things.

Only ten minutes away is a superb golf course with an excellent restaurant (the kangaroo steak is highly recommended) and a large pool. The hamlet of La Frictiére itself comprises of only 4 houses and is surrounded by farmsteads, open land and wildlife.

The old town of Parthenay is 19km away and Poitiers, known as 'the town of a thousand spires', is only 27 km away with a main line train station and an airport.

For those with a family to entertain, the Futuroscope theme park is a short drive away via a connection to the A10.

La Rochelle, famous for it's long sandy beaches and a favourite destination for tourists, is approx 1 1/2 hours away.

So, if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet and peaceful, "getaway from it all" break with easy access to towns to step up the pace, you would be made most welcome here at Chez Amis.

The Gite sleeps 6 and is on one level and consists of 3 double bedrooms that all lead on to the veranda - 2 with twin beds, 1 with double and  2 shower rooms. An extra bed and a travel cot can be made available upon request. There is a very large, fully equipped kitchen/diner including a microwave, gas cooker, dishwasher and a washing machine. In the open lounge you will find a TV , video and DVD player.

Outside there is a brick-built BBQ and generous space for hard-standing parking.

The spacious area surrounding the gite is mainly grassed with pretty views of the countryside. Bed linen is provided although there is a small charge for towels if required. You will also have free use of the sizable 'out of ground' pool, although for children this must be with adult supervision at all times.
